Gingerbread contest

It was the girls against the boys. . . the kids had a contest this year for the best gingerbread house. They were supposed to have a theme. The boys (Jaggyr, Kazen, and Daxon) did a lighthouse, and Kesh and Ella did the Empire State Building? (Kesh still wasn't sure even when she was finished). They were pretty creative, but they really only did it so that they could eat the candy when the contest was over!

I am not letting Just take pictures anymore. . . for now please turn your head sideways to get the full effect.

Christmas Pics

Christmas is such a fun time of year, but it is gone so quickly. The kids all had fun and Kesh and I braved the weather on Friday to go spend her gift cards (thank heaven for 4-wheel drive!) They were all grateful for their gifts, but Ella truly enjoyed everything that she got and did not stop playing until it was time for bed. Jaggyr can't wait until the snow melts off the sidewalks so he can try out his new Spiderman bike. Dax is going to learn how to play his keyboard, Kazen got a Zune, Kesh got some practical ankle braces so that she doesn't have to sit out another basketball game again.

Justin was the picture taker this year, so I am leaving his goofy style on the pictures.

Boy's 1st Basketball Games

Daxon and Kazen had their first Jr. Jazz games of the season last Saturday, and I have to admit the first game is always a little chaotic. They only had 1 practice together as a team before their first game, so that is to be expected, I guess.

Kazen scored the first basket and I missed it! I was trying to zoom in with the camera and could not find the button, but the camera went dead and I missed the shot! His final score was 6-6, yes, that is right, I said six to six! It was a real high-scoring game, and thankfully they left it at a tie.

Daxon's team lost 22-16. They did pretty good, just need to work out the kinks and pass the ball around. After practice last night, he told me they are going to be ready for the game on Saturday because now they have more than 1 play to run, they have 2.

No pictures for this one because, as I said, I didn't check the batteries and they were dead!

Ella Temple

I finally let Kesh curl Ella's hair the other day and it was so cute! I had to post it.

Jaggyr's 5th Birthday

My little man is growing up. Today he turns 5 years old. When he was little and had reflux so horribly bad I had to carry dish towels with me, I never thought that I would see the day that he was old enough to go to school. What a smart little guy he is. We work on preschool-esque papers at home because I cannot bear to spend $80 a month to send him to my neighbor's preschool, but he catches on so quickly and he really likes doing it. Here is my list of 5 reasons why I love Jaggyr so much:

1. He is so loving and gives the best hugs in the mornings.

2. He is so smart and knows things that amaze me. He can put anyone to shame on the Wii. He is so eager to learn new things.

3. He takes care of Boozer faithfully and doesn't complain.

4. He is so kind to Ella when I know that she annoys him.

5. He brings so much happiness to our home and he is a funny little guy.

Happy birthday Jaggyr! We love you so much!

"Creepy" Cough

The other night Jaggyr had the croup, then Ella got it 2 days later. I told her she had the croup. Well last night she came into my office and told me that she had the "creepy" cough again. She is right in an off-handed sort of way. . . it is really creepy how their coughs sound when they have the croup! We are all better in our house today, and hopefully it will stay that way for the rest of the season.
